What you'll do
As Optivo’s Head of Financial & Development Accounting, you’ll provide a comprehensive financial accounting service working alongside the Director of Financial Services, setting and meeting challenging targets.

Managing a team of 4 in an organisation with a turnover of £345m and gross assets of £2.7bn, you’ll support and develop the team, leading by example to ensure excellent services are provided and the objectives in the team plan are met. You’ll be responsible for producing financial statements for Optivo Group (including consolidation), Association and Subsidiaries. You’ll manage the interim and annual external audits, housing stock registers and development department accounts. You’ll deliver a customer focused financial and development accounting service which embraces the Optivo culture.

What you’ll need
To succeed in the role of Head of Financial & Development Accounting, you’ll need to be an experienced manager who can inspire and motivate your team. You’ll hold a professional qualification in accounting and be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with at least 5 years’ experience and have a strong track record in the preparation of statutory financial statements and managing audits. A good standard of written communication, experience of calculating and analysing financial ratios, experience carrying out financial benchmarking and of working in a Development Finance Team are all key, as is strong commercial awareness and knowledge of UK social housing.

Working in collaboration across the business is a big part of this role, you must be able to develop and maintain good professional working relationships with colleagues and have the appetite to take on a diverse set of complex challenges.
