Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

We are seeking skilled, enthusiastic and creative Educational Psychologists to join our team.  We are a dedicated team committed to providing a psychological service to children and young people in our communities.  The service has a long established and successful consultation framework which underpins its work with schools.  We work in a flexible and creative way in line with evidence-based practice.  Redbridge EPS is highly regarded and valued by our schools and services across the borough.  EPs are seen as integral to supporting vulnerable children, multi-agency working, and school development.

The posts will involve a range of EP work including preventative, school-based allocation and early years and post 16 opportunities.  We provide diverse working opportunities including the Virtual School, Youth Offending Team, Supporting Refugees and work within the wider Community and Children’s Centres. Opportunities are available to all EPs to pursue action research, projects and therapeutic work.

We are a growing service and have a number of Assistant EPs and TEPs working and training with us.  We have our Redbridge Educational Well Being Team (REWT) who provide universal support through training, supervision and project work for schools across the borough via Emotional Well-Being Designated Senior Leads (EWDSL) and Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs). More recently, the team have expanded to provide targeted therapeutic support to schools and families through our Mental Health Support Team (MHST).

Successful applicants will benefit from the support of a friendly, supportive, well-established team who meet regularly to share practice and enable whole team development. Applicants will receive an induction programme tailored to their needs, supportive peer and individual supervision, an annual service CPD programme and a generous annual leave allocation.

Applicants must be a professionally qualified Educational Psychologist and registered with the HCPC or in the case of trainee EP’s, expecting to have their registration confirmed following the completion of their recognised training course.

Both full and part-time applicants will be considered.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post
