Employed by London Borough of Camden the Digital Transformation Manager will be based in North London Waste Authority (NLWA), serving Camden and six other north London boroughs.

The role

We have a senior opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a Digital Transformation Strategy for the Authority to improve the organisational intelligence of NLWA, and the business processes it uses to support service delivery. This will include close liaison with our seven constituent boroughs and partner organisations to ensure the strategy is coherent and joined up where required. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing systems and process in order to compile statistics required by the National WasteDataFlow system and to improve reporting and business intelligence within NLWA. The work will also include leading the procurement and delivery of a replacement Waste Management Data System (WMDS) for the management and reporting of data required to operate the business effectively and meet our statutory obligations.

The post-holder will report to the Head of Strategy and Services for North London Waste Authority and have pivotal role in ensuring that the Authority’s transformational agenda for waste services is supported and enabled by appropriately forward-looking data management and information systems.

About You

You should be highly numerate and literate and have experience of data analysis and visualisation using Power Query, Power BI and Python. We expect a qualification in a numerate subject or some experience of applying statistical knowledge and skills as well as experience of managing WasteDataFlow returns. If you have an interest in the environment, climate change and/or recycling and a passion for using technology to improve data management and efficiency then this role could be for you.

We’re ready to welcome your ideas, your views, and your rebellious spirit. This is a pivotal time for NLWA as well as for the waste sector as a whole. This post provides an exciting opportunity to shape NLWA’s approach to data management and analysis to support the Authority’s long-term plans for the future.
