We are currently recruiting a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Hub Officer on a fixed term basis to support the PPE Hub Coordinator with the day-to-day operations of the PPE Hub.

The PPE Hub is responsible for sourcing and distributing quality PPE to council services, city-wide partners and individuals in line with agreed policy to fulfil their PPE needs in an inclusive, sustainable, timely, efficient and accountable manner.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of working for a critical service at the forefront of Brighton & Hove City Council’s fight against Covid-19 and provides the opportunity to work with staff at all levels across the entire council to fulfil their PPE needs.

 The successful candidate will have:

This is a full-time position (37 hrs p/w) and will be a fixed-term contract/secondment until the 31st of May 2022. Internal applicants are welcome to apply for this post on a secondment basis, please ensure you seek permission from your current line manager before submitting your application.

You will assist the PPE Hub Coordinator to ensure all enquiries and PPE requests are fulfilled within the Key Performance Indicators established for the team.

Brighton & Hove City Council’s PPE stock is currently split across multiple locations and you will support the PPE Hub Coordinator to track the stock through the supply chain from receipt to point of distribution in a transparent and accountable manner. 

The team is based at a unit in New England House, and the PPE Hub Officer will be based here for the duration of their contract. Occasionally the Officer may be required to visit other council sites to inspect or distribute stock. 

*Eligibility to Apply for Secondments

Permanent employees are eligible to apply for a secondment where they have:

held their current post for at least twelve months, obtained agreement from their line manager and have a defined development need that may be met through the secondment or there is a defined organisational need that will be met via the secondment

Temporary employees are not eligible to apply for vacancies on a secondment basis, but would be offered a standard fixed-term contract.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
