Economy & Skills Manager, West London Alliance

Grade 15

£52,866 - £56,100 p.a.

The West London Alliance (WLA) is a strategic partnership of seven West London local authorities – the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow – and is one of four such sub-regional partnerships in London.

Working collaboratively with our constituent local authority members and with a wide range of external partners across London government and the wider public and private sectors, our Economy & Skills work is increasingly focused on the challenge of economic recovery for our sub-region.

The role of Economy & Skills Manager is a new role at the WLA and will be pivotal in leading the development and implementation of significant elements of the West London boroughs’ collective approach to economic recovery, with a particular focus on skills and on ‘green recovery’. Working with the Head of Economy & Skills and others across our boroughs, the postholder will be an adept collaborator and partnership worker, focusing on complementing and supplementing work underway at the borough level through sub-regional interventions to contribute to an inclusive recovery from the economic impact of the pandemic.

The post-holder will be particularly knowledgeable about the skills and employment agendas, with a track record working effectively and credibly to deliver excellent measurable outcomes, with an understanding of both policy development and programme delivery, and use of data and evidence. Given the partial focus of this role in supporting delivery of the boroughs’ ‘green recovery’ an understanding of the broader economic development landscape is also desirable.

This post is a full-time role, for a fixed term of twelve months. Secondments welcome.

Closing date: 27th September
