Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

London Borough of Redbridge is striving to improve the wellbeing of residents.  The organisation has undergone a dynamic process of organisational change to ensure that we are fit to meet the needs of people living in Redbridge.  We have an exciting and challenging opening within our Peoples Directorate (which includes Public Health) for a Public Health Principal  who is innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated with great communication and interpersonal skills.

Applicants will have responsibility for areas across a range of Public Health functions including mental health and wellbeing, tobacco control and smoking cessation and workplace health.

Under the leadership of our Consultant in Public Health you will deliver a varied programme of work to improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities for residents in Redbridge.  You will work alongside a range of partners, support the commissioning of public health services, and develop and implement strategies and undertake service reviews and quality improvement programmes.

Ideally the successful applicants must have experience in working in Public Health, have a master’s degree in public health/environmental health or health promotion and registered for accreditation in the UKPHR as public health practitioner.
