Employment Support Officer - (Fixed Term Contract 36 months)
Optivo’s in house charity Fresh Visions supports children, young people and adults who face extreme disadvantage as a result of poverty, domestic abuse, lack of education and social exclusion.
This role will be the working on the Charity’s new seniors programme, tackling unemployment amongst residents aged 55yrs
We’re looking for an Employment Support Officer who’s passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. Working as part of Social Impact employment team you’ll be providing information, advice and guidance on one2one and group basis.
You’ll develop and run activities for clients to boost their skills and provide them with training to enable individuals to achieve measurable progression in job readiness.
And be responsible for managing your own client caseload. You’ll have clear individual performance targets. These figures feed into our goal of supporting over 1000 people into employment or training each year.
This is a great opportunity to work closely with our Income, Financial Inclusion and Tenancy Sustainment team looking in to and identifying our residents most in need of support.
What you’ll need
You’ll hold ideally hold a relevant professional qualifications in employment support, community development, community health service delivery, youth work/young persons’ services, health care provision or relevant work based experience of similar experience.
You’ll be experienced in working with customers and community stakeholders to deliver training and advice activities and have experience in providing 1-2-1 support, information advice and guidance, alongside developing and maintaining local partnerships which is a fundamental part of the role.
You’ll have excellent communication and customer service skills. Along with the ability to prepare precise reports on project activities including performance and financial data and record keeping.
