Adult Social Care: Single Point of Access Team

An opportunity has arisen for 2 full time and one Part Time (21 hours) Occupational Therapists with the Single Point of Access team within Adult Social Care in Enfield.

The team is the first point of contact for service users, carers and organisations wishing to refer into Adult Social Care for advice, information and community assessment and review.

Working alongside Social Workers and Social Care assessors you will be utilising a strength-based approach and the three conversation model to promote independence and well-being. You will work in line with the Care Act to promote service users choice and control in their daily lives while respecting the key elements of the act to ensure service users can contribute to society and continue to have meaningful, autonomous and self-determined lives.

The role is varied and includes working on a fast-paced caseload, supporting duty with a strong emphasis on moving and handling solutions. Further expectations include contributing to the smooth running and clinical excellence of the team, while supporting colleagues with complex problem solving.

You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. You will have the ability to gather and record information in order to prioritise queries, resolve problems and signpost to alternative services. You will be highly motivated and familiar with dealing with complex and emotionally challenging situations through to resolution while ensuring service users and carers are supported with dignity and respect and are promoted to fully engage in the assessment process, in line with the principles of personalisation and self-directed support.

You will be Registered with the HCPC, you will hold a professional OT qualification with post qualifying experience in health and social care including community placements.

The service is also in the process of working towards integration with our health colleagues and in addition to this we are adopting new ways of working to improve services and the customer experience. The successful applicant will need to have a good understanding of the challenges we face and how the team can be supported going forward.

This is a full-time post. However, part time hours may be considered depending on the individual service needs
