Assistant Environmental Services Manager
Job introduction
We have an exciting role for an experienced supervisor who thrives on delivering first class customer services.
You’ll support a small, dedicated team that deals with public inquiries on our busy front line Cityclean and City Parks services and well as managing our admin service.
The role also includes ensuring the work of the team is high performing and providing a consistent approach, with customer service always at the forefront.
If successful, you’ll play an important role in not only how residents, businesses and visitors view our city, you’ll also be fundamental to the success and attraction of Brighton & Hove.
About the role
You will be an organised and confident supervisor, with experience of providing customer contact services within a performance management and customer focused culture.
You must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to supervise and motivate a team of differing abilities and have experience of working in a sensitive, pressured environment.
In particular, we want someone to join our City Environment team who can demonstrate experience in:
- Managing and motivating successful teams
- Managing customer communication channels
- Establishing and maintaining business critical systems and processes
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Members and MPs

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
