At Waltham Forest we are serious about tackling the Climate Emergency and it continues to be one of our top priorities. We are looking for an Energy and Utilities Senior Manager to provide strategic direction and leadership to the Energy Management function, ensuring it delivers a high-quality service and ambitious delivery plans for reducing the Council’s energy consumption.

THE ROLE

Energy and Utilities Senior Manager

Grade: PO10

Salary range: £59,325 to 62,556

As Energy and Utilities Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading the multi-million pound procurement and contract management of the Council’s utilities contracts across its corporate and housing estate of c.500 assets, demonstrating energy performance and providing a robust evidence base for targeted energy reduction programmes. You will be the lead officer for the Council’s Energy Management strategy, making sure delivery plans are aligned to corporate priorities – including our response to the Climate Emergency – and achieve energy and carbon reduction targets.

We are looking for an experienced manager who can combine in-depth technical knowledge of energy management with demonstrable strategic leadership skills. The role is offered on a part office and home-based arrangement.
