Job introduction

We are very excited to be trialling resuming our daily childcare after school club next term and are looking for keen, organised and motivated staff to be involved in running this club.  The role will be fixed term, initially for 1 half term (may be extended further), as it is a time limited project dependant on the success of the club, with a view to extending the contract if the club is successful.

The role of the After School Club Assistant will be to assist with the provision of high quality care for children at our Primary School who are accessing after school care and to assist the After School Club Co-ordinator in ensuring that each child has an enjoyable and safe session and eats a healthy snack before going home.  You should be flexible and resourceful and willing to support the inclusive ethos of our club. 

Paid weeks per year: 43.70 inclusive of holiday entitlement

Fixed term: Until 31st December 2021 in the first instance with a view to extending

Start date: September 2021

 

 

About the role

The successful candidate will need:

  • Good understanding of the needs of young children
  • Basic knowledge of relevant procedures and associated legislation is desirable but not essential as training will be provided (e.g. health and safety, paediatric first aid, food hygiene)
  • Awareness of child protection issues and procedures
  • Awareness of equalities issues and implementation and development of equalities practices
  • Experience of interaction with children desirable.
  • Ability to prepare basic food and snacks
