About the role
This Area Operations Officer plays an essential role in the delivery of the corporate objectives for the council in delivering Highways, Traffic and Parking projects to keep Havering moving and make it a great place to live and work.
Leading on highways inspections and network enforcement (NRSWA), the post holder carries out regular borough highways, traffic and parking site visits, ensuring an integrated inspection programme for all relevant permits and assets.
Working across the council, the Area Operations Officer ensures the transport network is managed, reliable and well maintained, performing risk assessments on defects found and prioritising repairs, documenting and highlighting any CDM issues.
About you
We’re looking for the ideal candidate to be a good communicator, focused on achieving results, and knowledgeable in planning and implementation, with a commitment to championing equalities, diversity and inclusion.
You will be required to evidence your knowledge of working within a Highways Inspections role, with exposure to health and safety legislation and customer care. This will be supplemented by your in depth knowledge of the ‘New Roads and Street Works Act 1991’, ‘Traffic Management Act 2004’, and the ‘Highways Act 1980’.
