Salary £52,698 to £58,011

X1 Full time (36 hours) & X1 Part Time (18 hours) 52 weeks per annum, Permanent positions available

The advertised salary is for full time work, the salary for part time will be calculated on a pro-rata basis the part time salary is £26,349 to £29,0005.50

The London borough of Enfield has developed an Innovative project to tackle the rising demand of Speech and Language needs within the school population. To tackle this demand, we have developed a holistic programme to support, schools, families and individual children with additional support needs.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real difference and be a trailblazer in analysing the demand for speech, language and communication and upskilling schools to become “Communication friendly schools”?

The aim of the Speech, Language and communication project is to implement a programme of support, a 4-stage model, to provide holistic support to schools, families and meet the individual needs of children.

We are looking for 2 specialist teachers, (1x FTE and 1x 0.5 Post) who will be able to deliver to the project specification and support schools to undertake:

  • Communication audits
  • Training needs analysis
  • Set up networking events and cluster programmes
  • Support schools to undertake professional training in speech and language.

You will have access to the Educational Psychology Service, SEN and Health services to support a holistic offer to children and families.

You will report to the project leader and you will in agreement be responsible for supporting schools across primary and secondary to improve their approach to communication and language development.

This is an exciting project and provides you with the opportunity to improve your teaching experience across sectors and disciplines.

The project will start in September but we would like someone to start before then to set up the project and steering group.

Applicants will need to have:

  • A high level of interpersonal skills with experience of speech, language and communication in primary and or secondary
  • An ability to build effective relationships and engage in partnership working
  • An ability to work with educational professionals at different levels to attain positive results.
  • A proven track record in developing school packages of support to achieve high standards.
  • An ability to work with families, children and young people to enable them to make positive progress.
  • Competent at working in a politically sensitive environment
  • Ability to work with a range of professionals across different sectors.
  • Able to support schools to analyse and develop their communication offer
