The Role:

Come and join us at Hackney as we move into an exciting phase for private rented housing in the borough.

 

Our vacancies are in our Intervention team which is focused on property licensing with some  reactive work, or the Compliance team focussed on proactive targeted enforcement and compliance.

 

- You will have a detailed knowledge of legislation which can be used to improve poor conditions in the private rented sector.

- Have experience of taking enforcement action under the Housing Act 2004, and other environmental health related legislation.

- Have the ability to prioritise competing demands whilst managing a complex caseload.

- Have good communication skills ,both written and verbal.

- Have the ability to use the internet and other information technology systems including information management systems.

Knowledge and experience for the Intervention Team Role

 

- Experience of undertaking property surveys,

- Identifying defects to residential property and specifying remedial works

- Ability to prepare written schedules of works and enforcement notices

- Have a sound knowledge and understanding, and ability to apply the HHSRS

Knowledge and experience for the Compliance Team Role

 

- Demonstrable experience of undertaking criminal investigations.

- Ability to identify offences, gather and record evidence, and conduct interviews under caution

- Prepare prosecution files in accordance with statutory requirements and guidance
