Environmental Services Manager
Job introduction
We have a new and exciting role for an experienced manager who thrives on delivering first class customer services.
You’ll lead a small, dedicated team that deals with public inquiries on our busy front line Cityclean and City Parks services and well as managing our admin service.
The role also includes ensuring the work of the team is cost effective and high performing, with customer service always at the forefront.
The job has been established following a service redesign and would be ideal for someone with the correct level of experience who can take the heat and is calm under pressure.
If successful, you’ll play an important role in not only how residents, businesses and visitors view our city, you’ll also be fundamental to the success and attraction of Brighton & Hove.
About the role
You will be a skilled, organised and confident manager, with experience of providing customer contact services within a performance management and customer focused culture.
You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to lead, manage and motivate a team of differing abilities and have experience of working in a sensitive, pressured environment.
In particular, we want someone to join our City Environment team who can demonstrate a high level of experience in:
- Managing staff
- Managing customer contact services and providing multi-channel advice and enquiry services
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Members and MPs
- Thinking innovatively and strategically and be able to generate new ideas that bring demonstrable improvements in customer service

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
