Regeneration Manager
Regeneration Manager - Development
Salary: MM1 £38,946 to £49,818
X1 Full Time (36 hours) Fixed Term (12 months) position
This is a very exciting time to join Enfield Council.
Our flagship regeneration programme is Meridian Water, the £7 billion regeneration of an 85- hectare site; our delivery approach is without precedent – the Council has taken control and will act as Master Developer for the site. 37 hectares of land have been acquired, planning permission obtained and the developer selected for the first two development projects.
Our new station opened in June 2019, the first phase of development for over 950 homes is now on-site and a planning application for the next 2,300 homes was approved in March 2020. We have secured £170M of government funding to deliver the strategic road and rail network and we are also developing our meanwhile uses which recently have expanded to include film studios and the UK’s premier drive-in cinema.
The Council is currently working on development of the scope and brief for the next delivery phases as well as developing the next stage of masterplan and financial model for the entire programme.
We are seeking a Regeneration Manager to help deliver our ambitious and exciting regeneration programme.
The Council requires a broad range of regeneration skills and experience, but also individuals with the aptitude to be flexible and adapt priorities in line with changing circumstances and need. The Council is particularly interested in candidates who have the experience and vision to drive forward an ambitious and innovative body of work.
Working with, and reporting to, the Senior Regeneration Manager, the successful candidate will be required to project manage all the activities associated with scoping out and establishing the brief for each future phase. This will include establishing market demand, assessing viability, carrying out soft market testing, setting out a programme and budget and ultimately procuring a development partner and/or investor. Phases may include residential, employment, leisure and culture or other varied uses dependent on the requirements of the project at the time.
This is a fast-paced team where no two days are the same. If you have the technical and project management skills and ambition, this is the place to be.
The role will involve managing projects, budgets, stakeholders, staff and representing the Council’s aspirations for Enfield. What separates Enfield from other Local Authorities is our proactive approach, our ability to deliver on the ground and our unrelenting standards. We are looking for candidates who can maintain a commercial outlook within a local government context and those with a track record of successful delivery.
Ideally professionally qualified in one or more of the following fields: property, project management, engineering, surveying.
