 We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about making a difference in people’s lives to join us as an Employment Advisor. You will be part of a Social Impact employment team that devises, plans and delivers an annual programme of residents’/participants’ personal development and employment support activities and projects.

As Employment Advisor, you’ll develop and run activities for clients to boost their skills and provide them with training to enable them to achieve measurable progression in job readiness. You’ll also be responsible for managing your own client caseload, providing information, advice and guidance on a 1-2-1 and group basis.

You’ll have clear individual performance targets, these figures feed into our goal of supporting over 1000 people into employment or training each year. 

This is a great opportunity to work closely with our Income, Financial Inclusion & Tenancy Sustainment team looking in to and identifying our residents most in need of support.

What you’ll need
You’ll ideally hold a relevant professional qualification in employment support, community development, community health service delivery, youth work/young persons’ services, health care provision or relevant work based experience. You’ll be used to working with customers and community stakeholders to deliver training and advice activities and have experience in providing 1-2-1 support, information advice and guidance, alongside developing and maintaining local partnerships, which is a fundamental part of the role. You’ll have excellent communication and customer service skills along with the ability to prepare precise reports on project activities including performance and financial data and record keeping.

This role will be working on the employability programme Work Smart which is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). ESF funds secured through Connecting Hastings and Rother Together programme (CHART), managed by Hastings Borough Council.

Optivo can also offer you flexible working with a cohesion of remote and office working.  A full driving licence is essential as travel between sites will be a requirement for this role. There may also be a requirement to attend meetings and other activities outside of normal working hours.
