Join our Homelessness and Prevention team as a Support Officer

The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Support Officer to join us in our Tower Hamlets based young people’s assessment service. Working as part of our close-knit team, you will provide support to our customers with a range of complex needs such as homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £22,065.27 per annum
Contract: Full time, permanent
Working hours: 37.5 hours/ week- shifts will range from 08:00-16:00, 15:00-23:00. You will be required to work some weekends and do at least 1 sleep-in shift each week
Your responsibilities will include:
• Undertaking key work sessions, support planning, risk assessments and needs reviews.
• Creating an environment that promotes opportunities for our customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence
• Use SMART goal planning to provide needs led holistic support
• Support customers to develop the necessary skills to live independently, and to access training, education, and work.

What you will need to succeed

We are looking for someone who believes in working together as part of a team, who shares our values and who is friendly, engaged and committed to achieving great outcomes for our customers. The successful candidate will have:
• Experience of working with vulnerable people with complex needs in a support capacity
• Good communication skills and the ability to engage with, and respect the needs of, vulnerable people
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to work on a 6-week rolling rota, which includes early shifts, late shifts, weekends and sleep-in shifts
