Hackney Council’s newly integrated Employment, Skills and Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit a Supported Internship Manager, to lead on the delivery of the Council’s high profile internship programme for young people with SEND.

The Supported Internship Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing a range of internships (including those externally commissioned), whilst implementing effective monitoring processes, to review success and make strategic and operational improvements. Additionally, the post holder will have overall responsibility for relevant stakeholder management, whilst providing effective leadership to staff and driving employment outcomes.

The post holder will also work closely with colleagues within the wider Employment, Skills and Adult Learning team, as well as stakeholders in Education to build a pipeline of young people for the programme. They will be involved in general strategic oversight of the programme, whilst ensuring the relevant processes are maintained operationally to ensure success of the programme.

You will need to have experience of managing and supervising staff, coupled with experience of securing competitive employment, for marginalised groups, within a target driven environment. Previous experience of working with people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities and autism is also required, along with an excellent working knowledge of Supported Employment models.
