Advanced Youth Offending Service Worker
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City
Two new opportunities have arisen for experienced Youth Offending Service (YOS) Workers to work in Redbridge. You will be required to undertake a full range of Assessment, Planning, Intervention and Supervision (APIS) responsibilities with the aim of reducing and preventing offending in the local area.
You will also be required to participate in the delivery of a wide range of YOS activities on an individual or group work basis and you will contribute to the development and implementation of a range of effective solutions to youth crime. This may include taking a lead in working with children living away from home, young people leaving custody, group work, prolific young offenders, bail and remand and victims.
You will have excellent communication and assessment skills; the ability to implement intervention plans making best use of appropriate and targeted resources; the organisational skills to undertake challenging work within tight deadlines, and maintain up-to-date records in line with National Standards; knowledge of both court work and case management and the ability to work well under your own initiative and as part of a multi-agency Service.
Previous experience as a YOS Officer is important.
The nature of the role means that flexible hours are needed including occasional evening and weekend work.
If you are interested in being part of a team delivering excellent services to young people in Redbridge, we would love to hear from you!
