Health and Social Care Operations Manager
Job introduction
We are recruiting an Operations Manager to manage a team of Social Workers in the Adult Social Care community assessment service within Health and Adult Social Care.
This is an exciting time to join the service and help lead the team through significant change as part of our Modernisation programme. We are working in close partnership working with our health colleagues, other council directorates, community and voluntary sector organisations to develop and implement an Early Help model.
We are looking for candidates with strong social work values, strong leadership and organisational skills and experience of managing a high performing team, with the ability to support staff through change whilst keeping good outcomes for people with care and support needs, and their carers at the centre of your practice.

About the role
You will lead, manage and develop staff through a period of considerable change, to adopt new ways of delivering services and to contribute to the delivery of Personalisation within HASC in order to provide excellent quality services to the residents of Brighton and Hove.
As an Operations Manager, you will be expected to lead staff groups, to model and instil the principles of leadership throughout the organisation and be responsible for providing effective, responsive service delivery by ensuring that the team is managed on a day to day basis.
The overall effective and efficient management of staff in the team includes:
a) Selection, recruitment, induction and attendance management
b) Assignment of work, allocation of resources and overall deployment of staff
c) Appraising performance with the aid of staff development reviews and acting in accordance with this to arrange training or other necessary action.
We are looking for someone who has high professional standards and an excellent knowledge of current legislation such as the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act is essential

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
