Public Protection Licensing Officer
Grade 5 £27,228-£30,213pa 6 X Month Fixed Term Contract
The Private Sector Housing Team sits within Public Protection. We are a high performing team focusing on outcomes and achieving results.
We currently have borough wide additional licensing and selective licensing in Brooklands and Romford Town
We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join the property licensing team. You will assist the team leader to licence rented properties and gather intelligence to target enforcement action on properties and landlords failing to fulfil their health and safety duties.
Your day to day role will be working within Private Sector Housing & Public Health. Dealing with Landlord and Tenant enquires and processing and issuing licence applications. Other duties include:
- To provide business support to the Private Sector Housing and Licensing Team within the Public Protection Service, including dedicated support to the Public Protection Manager.
- To organise, manage and execute the houses in multiple occupation licensing and regulatory functions principally under the Housing Act 2004. To support and assist the work of the HMO Team to improve the safety and quality of privately rented shared housing as part of the Council’s Private Sector Housing Strategy.
- To provide back office advice related to the general work and referrals from the Contact Centre and other Advice Partners, post, direct calls, emails and web e-forms
