We have a fantastic opportunity for a Children Families & Young Peoples Lead to join our team based in Thamesmead. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £39,000 - £45,000 per annum.

About the Children Families & Young Peoples Lead role:

You will be responsible for leading the Peabody Community Foundation (PCF) activity, programmes and approach to working with children, young people and families within Greenwich and Bexley.

Responsibilities of our Children Families & Young Peoples Lead include:

- Ensuring Peabody-run services and initiatives are of the highest quality and make a real difference to residents and the community
- Ensuring our strategy addresses the priorities of our residents and they are effectively involved in decision making at all levels
- Leading on the development of our relevant relationships with strategic partners within the local authority, health services, schools, and the private and voluntary sector
- Contributing to the development of sustainable funding models for the long-term, proactively seeking out funding opportunities and responding to them
- Ensuring the team’s work is effectively monitored, evaluated and promoted by working with central communications and audit teams
- Building excellent relationships internally with key staff across the business to ensure we deliver a ‘joined up’ offer to residents
- Working with other area-based initiatives within the Peabody Community Foundation, sharing learning and contributing to the development of Peabody’s longer-term approach
- Appropriately safeguarding any child, young person or family member who is identified to be at risk and ensure the Children’s Community team follows best practice in safeguarding
- Co-ordinating research with residents and stakeholders to identify their priorities and perceptions including
- Reporting on progress towards the development of area plans, producing and maintaining project plans, action plans and reports for a variety of audiences.
- Overseeing the delivery of the Children’s Community annual work plan in line with the theory of change
- Managing the governance of the Children’s Community Strategic Group and subgroups
- Managing externally funded contracts, ensuring all delivery targets are met and reporting is completed to the deadline

What we’re looking for in our Children Families & Young Peoples Lead:

- A track record of developing and delivering complex programmes that aim to improve outcomes for children, young people and families at individual and systems levels
- Leadership skills and a track record of effective staff management
- A track record of developing and maintaining significant senior partnerships within the public, private and voluntary sectors and an ability to manage strategic stakeholders
- Experience of developing new projects and excellent project management skills
- The ability to think analytically and work strategically to support a complex partnership to achieve its long-term goals
- An understanding of the evidence base on improving outcomes for children, families and young people 
- Experience of demonstrating the impact of projects/services and meeting the demands of funders/evaluators
- Experience of effectively safeguarding children and in-depth knowledge of best practice 
- Passionate about creating opportunities for disadvantaged people and an active commitment to equal opportunities, with the ability to work in culturally diverse communities and groups 
- The ability to communicate well with both residents and professionals at all levels and author high-quality reports and project proposals
-  IT literacy with the understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office effectively
- The ability to understand, analyse and contextualise a range of data, performance metrics and outcomes to reach conclusions and judgements
