Salary Range: Scale P04 - £40,869 to £43,860 pa

We are looking for One Qualified Best Interest Assessor with demonstrable recent experience of carrying out complex assessments. This is a permanent position. In addition, there is a possibility of a second short term temporary position for appointable candidates.
You will need to have extensive experience of BIA practice, working with people from a range of client groups including learning disabilities, mental health, brain injury and dementia. A comprehensive understanding of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards process and the impact of recent legislation is required, along with a flexible approach and a willingness to travel to undertake assessments.
Job Description
The successful candidate will provide a specialist best interests assessment service in line with the legal requirements of the Mental Capacity Act Deprivation of liberty Safeguards carrying out complex and detailed assessments of vulnerable adults in care homes and hospitals and in other settings to determine whether they are being deprived of their liberty and if so whether this in their best interests.
They will work with the Team Manager Mental Capacity Act to ensure the efficient operational management of the MCA DOLS service and the delivery of high quality, responsive, and safe best interests assessments.
