CLERK TO GOVERNORS

Salary scale 3-5 (£19,312 - £22,183 pro rata) dependent on experience, 240 hours per annum (based on 4 hours per week – but worked is as required)

Saltdean Primary School is looking to recruit a dedicated and well organised clerk to support the Governing Body.  The role will involve attending and minuting all governor meetings (which usually take place in the evenings – currently on Zoom but normally in school), providing full administration support and liaising with the local authority on procedural and constitutional matters.

About the role

This post will appeal to someone who enjoys working with a group of dedicated professionals, has an interest in education and would like to work from home. Part of the role will require time in school to keep records up to date. The successful candidate must possess strong communication, administration, organisational and IT skills, exceptional minute taking and an excellent command of the English language.  The role will require the ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines and at times convenient to the Governing Body. Ideally, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Clerk who will be able to advise the board. However, we will also consider applications from new clerks who can demonstrate relevant experience and skills. All clerks will be expected undertake training provided by Brighton and Hove City Council.
