About the Job

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to start and develop a career in Learning & Development.

As the Talent Team Apprentice, you will play an important role in the delivery of a highly effective service to staff.

You will engage with a range of people from across the organisation  and will be dealing with challenging situations and issues as they arise.

You will also be required to work effectively across a shared service, supporting the team by providing administrative support and will use various systems to record and maintain information.

The team operates across the London Borough of Havering and the London Borough of Newham and you will be required to travel to both sites to meet the needs of the team.

Due to the pandemic, many council staff have been working from home and this arrangement will apply to our team apprentice as to other team members.

You will develop skills in managing day-to-day learning and development queries and advice.

The duration of this apprenticeship will be for 24 months.

You will be provided with support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship and will work towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.

About You

Applications are welcomed from people of all ages with a desire to make a difference in the local community and with a commitment to learning. 

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

Ø  3 GCSE’s, or equivalent qualifications, including Maths and English.

Ø  Good communication skills – your application will be used to assess your written communication skills so take care over it.

Ø  Ability to work well as part of a team and use own initiative.

Ø  A commitment to deliver high quality services to residents and a knowledge of local issues.

Ø  Organisational skills with the ability to focus on achieving targets.

Ø  A desire to work towards a business qualification.

Ø  Reliability and punctuality.

Ø  Tech-savvy.  We need those skills to help us deliver 21st century services to residents.

Ø  A commitment to undertake and complete a qualification via a structured training programme.

Ø  Basic level of work experience.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is the 16th April 2021.

You will also need to be available to attend an assessment and interview in the weeks commencing 3rd  and 14th May 2021.
