We are seeking to appoint a full-time Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Social Worker for this busy, friendly fostering team in Enfield. The role will involve recruiting foster carers, delivering skills to foster training and assessing foster carers regarding their suitability to foster. The post holder will need to have good communication skills and the ability to write good analytical reports within timescales. The post holder will also need to have an in depth understanding of the specific needs of looked after children and how these can be met in a family placement. Good organisational skills in planning and carrying out fostering assessments alongside recruitment tasks are required, as well as experience in working with foster carers and/or children in care.
Enfield has over 300 looked after children and our aim is to care for as many of them as possible within our in-house foster placements. The team has a marketing and recruitment officer who works collaborative with the social work staff to ensure campaigns are targeted to meet the changing needs of the service. Enfield’s Fostering Team is also part of the North London Fostering Consortium working in partnership with five other boroughs on a number of initiatives. Enfield’s Children’s Services has excellent training opportunities for staff across all teams.
