Hillingdon Council are building on the best practice learnt through the implementation of the SEND Reforms to make some exciting changes to our SEND Services. We are committed to delivering the best service possible to children and young people with SEND and their families and want to work closely with our educational settings to ensure special educational needs and disabilities are well supported.
We are now recruiting Early Years SEND Advisers to join our SEND Advisory Service.
About the role
As an Early Years SEND Adviser, you will play an active role in supporting children with SEND aged 0-5 and their families. You will help design and provide parent & child activity sessions and support parents/carers to better understand their child's needs and behaviours, whilst also working closely with settings, helping and training them to identify and support children who may have special educational needs or disabilities.
About you
Alongside a Level 3 qualification in childcare, candidates will have experience of working with children with special educational needs and experience of working in partnership with parents/carers in order to meet the needs of their child.
Knowledge of child development and a thorough understanding of current SEND and equalities legislation is also essential.
