About the service

Hillingdon Council have recently centralised the Brokerage and Direct payment model and function in order to develop and standardise practice across all teams. An integrated service will allow the council to work in a more proactive way with partners across the market, ensuring there is a range of quality provision for service users to access.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for several Direct Payments Officers to join our Direct Payments Team, working alongside our wider Social Care teams. The post holders will be responsible for promoting the use of Direct payment as a solution to having a care package to meet their assessed needs.

You will be critical in advising and supporting residents and staff across Children and Adult services in the process and management of Direct Payments. You will be responsible for the administration and monitoring of individuals Direct Payments to ensure residents have the required funds and use these appropriately to purchase their assessed care and support needs.

About you

You will have sound knowledge and understanding of Transformation and the Personalisation agenda and a commitment to promoting independence, choice and control.

You will have the ability to provide and adapt guidance and support to residents and staff, ensuring they are fully acquainted with Direct Payments and how to implement and manage their agreed care support plan to achieve positive outcomes.

Equally important and critical to your success in this rewarding role will be your pragmatic and client centred attitude to your work. You will need to be able to analyse and report data to the Service Manager.

You should be competent user ICT such as Microsoft Word and Excel

In addition, you will have a willingness to undertake any training relevant to the role.
