Internal communications manager
Croydon is going through lots of change; from its ongoing response to the pandemic to dealing with the impact of the council’s financial challenge and its renewal plans for the future. As an organisation the council is mapping out how best it can support its communities and what this means for its workforce in 2021 and beyond. This fixed-term role is an opportunity to help support the workforce through this period change, from crisis management to embedding new organisational strategy and structures. It is a chance to make a positive difference to a large organisation during a critical time.
This 12 month contract will lead our internal communications team and work closely with lots of areas in the council, from HR and organisational development to senior leaders and stakeholders. Sitting as part of a busy (and friendly) communications service we are looking for someone with proven experience managing organisational change and contributing to company culture through regular, informed comms and employee engagement. Project management experience, especially around HR processes and behaviour change is a plus. Local government background is desirable but not essential.
We’re looking for someone that really cares about good internal communications, understands the difference it can make and believes in its place at the top table of any organisation.
Workplaces, working patterns and employee expectations are changing – can you be a part of what that means for us in Croydon?
