Housing Futures: A Decent Home for All 

Temporary Accommodation Residents Support Officer SO2: This post is based on Housing Options and offers support to people living in Temporary Accommodation or moving into the Private rented sector. Regardless of the tenure the aim is always to ensure that the person maintains their tenancy successfully. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of offering support to a range of vulnerable households and know how to do this successfully. They will have a good understanding and knowledge of the challenges facing people who have been homeless, of the relevant housing legislation and have had the experience of working in an organisation that provides housing. You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of welfare benefits, have experience of linking customers to statutory services, signposting to specialist providers for support and assistance, and helping clients to maintain or create support networks, particularly when moving to new areas. In addition, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to demonstrate them across a range of audiences and have experience of negotiating successfully to achieve positive outcomes for your clients. As people are placed in Temporary Accommodation across London the post will need access to their own transport.
