ESOL Single Point of Contact Coordinator PO3
ESOL Single Point of Contact Coordinator (PO3)
0.5 FTE
TEMP 5-months, with the possibility of extension
At Waltham Forest we believe our communities are our greatest asset and we are passionate about providing them the best possible public service. Over the past 18 months, as one of only five government-funded Areas of Integration, we have delivered ambitious programmes of engagement with our residents, community leaders and networks which aimed to build social cohesion, social capacity and shared responsibility. Notably, early in 2020, we held the first ever Citizens’ Assembly on hate crime and are now building on its success by working closely with our community members on the development of key strategies for tackling other social inequalities.
Community Participation is more than a programme: it represents a new movement that has impacted across the community, and the ESOL Single Point of Contact service has been playing an integral role. The ESOL SPOC Coordinator role requires proactive and confident individuals who can develop new ideas, challenge perceptions, and identify opportunities working alongside the voluntary and community sector, local residents and services.
