Job introduction

This is a key role in the Council's Housing, Property & Investment Team, ensuring the effective management and maintenance of the Council’s housing stock in accordance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. This is done through effective and efficient governance and management of the client side of the City Council’s gas partnering contract. The role has oversight of the finance and performance management arrangements for the contract and is key in managing residents and other stakeholders expectations regarding repair, servicing and planned maintenance of assets.

About the role

This is a key role in the Council's housing service, you will be responsible for the effective management and maintenance of the Council’s housing stock in accordance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.

With a proven track record of fostering and developing partnership working across organisational boundaries to achieve positive results, you will use your project management and communication skills to deliver an effective contract that delivers on performance and value for money.

With technical knowledge of gas installations and extensive knowledge of energy use issues and energy efficiency, you will play a key role in the organisations ambitions to both reduce our carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.

You will have well-developed negotiation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy, verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
