This post requires an individual who has the ability to respond flexibly, positively to the ever-changing pressures which agencies working in the area of Youth Justice face.
As a member of the Youth Offending & Targeted Prevention Service Management Team, you will take responsibility for the management and delivery of an effective and efficient service for children, young people, their families and victims. The post has a primary focus on practice and staff development. It will be approximately 25% practice and 75% managing, developing, training, coaching, advising and supporting staff.
You will also be required to participate in the delivery and co-ordination of a wide range of Youth Offending & Targeted Prevention Service activities. This will involve personally undertaking policy development work and managing directly provided services.
You will have excellent communication and assessment skills; the ability to implement intervention plans making best use of appropriate and targeted resources; the organisational skills to undertake challenging work within tight deadlines, and maintain up-to-date records in line with National Standards; expert knowledge of both court work and case management and the ability to work well under your own initiative and as part of a multi-agency Service. You will need to have substantial post qualifying experience in a field related to Youth Justice, where you were involved directly in the provision of services to young people or offenders.
