This funding supports tenants and leaseholders to participate in their communities and bid for improvements and projects on their estates and neighbourhoods. The post supports the council to increase and widen resident engagement in community life and in council services.

You will be required to coordinate the Estate Development Budget bid processes, including providing updates and reports to Area panels, working with the residents on a decision making panel, working with resident groups to support bidding, expanding the scope of the fund and supporting the implementation of the bids once approved by the panel.

About the role

We seek a thorough and detail focused individual who is willing to be creative and work with a solution based approach to a demanding and satisfying job.

This is a vital role to support the Community Engagement Team particularly to widen participation in the Estate Development Budget to enable more local tenants and leaseholders to bid for funds to improve their areas.

This role involves liaison with many teams within the council and promotion to a wide group of council tenants and leaseholders in the city.  The Estate Development budget is a well loved fund by residents and enables them to bring forward creative ideas for physical developments and projects that will improve the quality of life for residents within their communities. We are looking for someone who will be passionate about getting the best from the funds, who is able to build trusting relationships with all residents and with the decision making panel,  and who can follow and develop robust methods and processes to ensure the fund is transparent.

The role requires someone who can work well across departments and coordinating stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the funds and projects.

You will need to work closely with the Community Engagement Officers and the Property and Investment team to assess the viability of Estate Development bids and with a tenant and leaseholder panel to award the funding. We are looking for someone who can research and develop new ideas and methods, especially in broadening the reach of Estate Development Budget and creating a new participatory budgeting approach that will engage more residents in the decision making process.

A diverse panel of staff and residents will be part of the interview panel.
