Lime Academy Hornbeam, William Morris Campus, in Waltham Forest, caters for pupils with SEND, including emotional and behavioural difficulties. Currently, most of their pupils are secondary age, but places are available to younger pupils, if appropriate. William Morris need an ambitious leader to ensure that they are able to meet the academic and emotional needs of their amazing pupils.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong experience of leading change and inspiring staff who is ready to take the next step in their career as a Headteacher.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the leading figure within the school, you’ll be at the forefront of developing a bespoke curriculum that caters to the specific needs of pupils with SEND, while upholding the overarching themes and values of the Lime Trust.

Working with a dedicated team of teachers at William Morris, you’ll make sure that they have ample opportunity to be upskilled to develop into future leaders. As well as managing the use of the school’s resources, you’ll look to the future to implement policies and strategies that benefit pupils and staff.

In addition, you’ll be working with staff to help prepare pupils for adulthood. Most pupils from the school go on to either further education or employment at 19, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that they have access to opportunities to develop the skills needed to prepare them fully for the next stage in their life.

You’ll be a key ambassador for the school, able to inspire pupils to reach their full potential by delivering a quality learning experience.

ABOUT YOU

With ample experience as Headteacher in a special or mainstream setting, you’ll need to have a passion for educating pupils with SEND. You’ll have a genuine understanding of what is needed to give pupils with SEND and behavioural and emotional difficulties a quality learning experience and to make school a place where they want to go.

You’ll need experience driving forward change within schools and making key decisions, both in terms of implementing policies and leading whole school improvement. You’ll also have experience with partnership working, as well as a strong understanding of safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Ultimately, you’ll be able to get the most out of your committed team of teachers and support staff, all working towards the same goal to provide a great education to a special group of pupils.
