Job Description & Person Specification
When it comes to asset management, everyone talks about ‘big projects’. But how big? At oneSource, we’re the real thing. With us, you can take on projects with genuine scope and scale. Our portfolio covers 80 square miles and two London boroughs, and our work has a big impact on the 600,000 people we serve. Building stronger communities? Brighter futures? Better lives? It’s all here. This is bigger than big.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for a full range of asset management, valuation and estate duties across the boroughs of both Newham and Havering. This covers a diverse range of commercial, operational and agricultural properties and you’ll manage things like rent reviews, lease renewals and new lettings. You’ll also carry out valuations of land and buildings, manage repairs programmes and provide expert advice to the Council on any land or property matters.
There’s also a strategic side to the role. As a project manager on some of our property schemes, you’ll be expected to find ways of improving our services and our knowledge of the market. It’s about finding quality and value for money in everything we do, expanding our capabilities while developing great working relationships with all our stakeholders.
About you
What you’ll bring to the table is solid local authority experience in estates and valuations, combined with a sharp knowledge of property management. But we also need talented communicators who can work with all kinds of people and make complex issues easy to understand. Flexibility is also key, as you’ll be working across two boroughs and managing multiple projects and deadlines. You should also have RICS membership or be working towards gaining membership.
We’re also looking for people who can get others on board and make our efforts a success. Innovation will come as second nature and form a huge part of your thinking when it comes to improving our services. We need people who are always asking ‘how will this benefit our customers?’ and have the communication and team-building skills to inspire others and bring plans to life. As you push our standards higher and higher, you’ll also instil integrity and true diversity across our teams, respecting others and expecting the same in return.
