Job Context
The post holder is responsible for developing, maintaining and leading the business processes and systems required to ensure the efficient running of the Adult Social Care Operations service, including business management, finance, communications and human resources.  In addition, the post holder will focus on Adult Social Care (ASC) Operations budget, governance, project management, training, risk management and health and safety. The central management of these business functions will provide capacity for the senior management team to concentrate on the delivery of strategic and transformational improvement work.

About you
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced all-rounder to join a fast-paced and ambitious service. You could be currently working in a variety of settings and wish to consolidate your career experience and become a Business Manager within Adult Social Care. You will thrive in a complex and ever changing environment. You will have experience of providing proactive and personal support to senior level managers to enable them to ensure best use of their time and energy - as you will be key to ensuring smooth business systems are in place to deliver the best possible outcomes.
You will have in-depth working knowledge of common IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel – and a sound working knowledge of financial (eg OneOracle / Fusion) and HR systems (e.g. Talent Link, Beeline, Bloom Procurement).
You will be a self-starter, a problem-solver, able to manage competing deadlines and able to work independently with minimal direction from your line manager.
But most of all, you will have an interest in Adult Social Care and a desire to be involved with improving the health and social care needs of Newham’s residents.

The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east.  It is well connected  by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London.
