London Accommodation Pathfinder Strategic Development Manager
About us
Camden is listening to everyone, including you.
We’re giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all
The role
As the London Accommodation Pathfinder (LAP) Strategic Development Manager, you’ll give children in the youth justice system a better chance at life by bringing partners together to develop new provision as an alternative to custody for London children. The LAP is a Youth Justice Board Pathfinder with national importance as it is expected to inform new practice across England.
The London Accommodation Pathfinder (LAP) is an innovative and joint approach committed to developing a new alternative to custody for 16-17 year olds in London. This project directly addresses the over-representation of London children in custody and particularly the disproportionately high number of black and minority ethnic young people in custody. The project aims to improve outcomes for the young people and reduce re-offending through intensive support provided through a psychologically informed approach, integrated with local authority services. With a partnership consisting of the Association of London Directors of Children’s Services, The Youth Justice Board, MOPAC, Youth Offending Institutions, young people and other key strategic partners, this work will shape and drive a much needed new pathway for young people in London as an alternative to custody.
You’ll be the linchpin of this ambitious project, bringing it all together in a newly created role.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
