Brent Outreach Autism Team (BOAT) Assistant for primary mainstream school settings

The Post

This role includes providing advice, training and resources for staff who support children and young people with a diagnosis of autism and attending primary mainstream educational settings across the borough.

You will also be providing information and signposting for those accessing the team and working in partnership with parents, voluntary and statutory agencies.

The Person

We are looking for are someone who has:

• Significant recent experience of supporting a range of students on the autism spectrum in key stage one and two settings (key stage one experience essential) in mainstream school settings.
• Knowledge of a range of strategies and interventions to support autistic students in mainstream school settings.
• Has high expectations for children and young people to achieve.
• Experience of effective working with other agencies.
• Competent computer and written skills.
• Enthusiasm, open to learning, creativity, a positive disposition and a sense of humour.
• Ability to manage your own time, proactive and adaptable in your practice.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to be part of a team.
