Are you:

  • Passionate about leading a team to deliver excellent customer service?
  • A confident people-manager with experience of motivating and supporting busy staff?
  • Able to prioritise your work, focus your team, and manage conflicting workloads?

If yes, this may be the ideal role for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Ealing Council’s resident services department for a talented and hardworking neighbourhood team leader to lead the Acton housing hub in delivering a holistic generic housing service to more than 2,000 council homes in the Acton and Chiswick areas.

Normally based in the Everyone Active Acton Centre, you will lead a team of eight, including the neighbourhood housing officers, a housing assistant apprentice, and the council’s gypsy and traveller liaison officer.

With over 2,000 council homes to manage, this is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same. The health and safety of our residents is a key priority for the team, as is ensuring our residents are supported through financial hardship and in sustaining their tenancies.

The council’s six housing hubs delver a customer-led service, close to residents’ homes for a more tailored offer. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively and effectively with other neighbourhood team leaders, council departments and external agencies, maximising the opportunities around enhanced partnership working and co-location of services.

Our staff are our greatest asset. We are looking for a candidate who is able to lead the team by example, support the staff in achieving their targets and ensure training needs are identified and met. You should be a problem solver, able to quickly identify the root of any issue and be adept at removing barriers and unsticking blockages.

If you would like further information or an informal discussion on the role please contact Stephanie Berry, neighbourhood housing manager on 020 8825 5705.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

This post is subject to Ealing Council's enhanced vetting process.
