Job introduction

This is an exciting and challenging new role working across multiple partners throughout the city, to raise awareness of the link between debt and mental ill-health.  The role will establish best practice models for recognising, signposting and making direct referrals between these two areas of interlinking need.  The post holder will identify gaps in current support systems and facilitate lasting change for residents affected by debt and mental ill health.

Fixed term for: 12 months

About the role

The longer-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to increase financial hardship in the city.  Financial hardship is recognised as having a detrimental effect on mental health.  The successful candidate will identify gaps in the current system and will need to be a motivated and resourceful individual in order to independently drive forward and facilitate lasting change, all within the 12 month time frame.

This innovative project aims to improve the way in which those affected by debt or poor mental health access support in the city.  By raising awareness amongst support staff of the link between these two areas, we can improve the way in which referrals are made between them and a more holistic approach to support can be explored.  This role will also  develop and coordinate a drive to improve the way in which those affected can independently access information and self refer to services they need and choose for themselves. 

Applicants should have a commitment to service improvement, the ability to influence those working across multiple agencies and be able to maintain momentum through the course of a project.

 

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
