The Planning Service is looking to recruit a Team Leader in the Development Management service.  The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day management of the Enforcement Team.

In the Planning Service we are investing in our staff and developing a modern, positive and customer-focused Planning Service.  We have a positive City Plan in place and are seeking a qualified professional planning officer with extensive experience in development management to lead the enforcement team.

There is an ambitious pipeline of development and regeneration projects coming forward in the city including at Brighton Marina, Brighton General Hospital, King Alfred Sports Centre and the Brighton Centre. You will be managing a small team of enforcement officers and will help the team manage a caseload of enforcement cases and proactive work across the city.  You will report to one of the Planning Managers and will work closely with colleagues across the Development Management service to ensure a consistent approach. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, positive and pro-active town planner. You will be able to do work largely at home whilst, as part of the covid 19 recovery, you will be able to work at our base in Hove Town Hall on agreed days. The successful applicant with be able to work flexibly, and we will pay relocation, if required, and for subsidised use of council leisure facilities.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
