About the role
You will have responsibility for the strategic direction of all services for Families, Children and Learning. Included in this position is the role of Statutory Director of Children’s Services.
We have transformed ourselves in recent years with almost all of our schools now categorised as “good” or “outstanding”, Early Years services now “excellent”, and the improvements we’ve made in children’s services positively recognised by Ofsted and CQC. You will be expected to continue to lead the directorate through this journey of continuous improvement.
We’re proud of our reputation as a city which values diversity and protects and enables the most vulnerable. We’re committed to being a fair and inclusive employer and public service provider and an actively anti-racist council. We particularly encourage applicants from a BME or White Other background, LGBTQ, as well as those who identify as disabled to apply.
