About the Job
This is a key role, which will support the Principal Electoral Services Officer, we are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic Electoral Services Officer, able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
You will assist the electoral services team in delivering all aspects of its work with the management in all electoral processes including Parliamentary, GLA, Local Elections and Referenda. As well as the compilation of the Register of Electors, updating absent vote data and administration of the property database, polling places and boundary reviews.
You will be required to provide effective and high-quality software support. Experience using Xpress software would be desirable. You must have a good level of IT literacy. Experience of data matching and data mining is desirable, but not essential.
Good communication skills when dealing with the public, Councillors, candidates, elections agents and officers within the Council.
You must have experience of working to tight deadlines. You must be flexible in your day to day working and be prepared to work extended hours, including weekends when required, especially at the time of the annual canvass and in the period leading up to elections.
A willingness to study for, or already hold, the Certificate of Electoral Administration.
You will have experience of supervising staff and experience in the conduct of elections.
