The Natural History Museum is both a world-leading science research centre and the most visited natural history museum in Europe. With a vision of a future in which both people and the planet thrive, it is uniquely positioned to be a powerful champion for balancing humanity's needs with those of the natural world.

It is custodian of one of the world's most important scientific collections comprising over 80 million specimens. The scale of this collection enables researchers from all over the world to document how species have and continue to respond to environmental changes - which is vital in helping predict what might happen in the future and informing future policies and plans to help the planet.

We are at a pivotal moment in our history as we launch a new strategy setting out our role as the natural world faces increasing threats. Building on our world-leading collection, global reputation for science and as one of the world's leading visitor attractions, the NHM has ambitious plans leading up to the 150 anniversary of the opening of the Waterhouse Building in 2031, making this a truly exciting time to be part of the NHM team.

About the role

Working within the Technology Solutions project and business analyst team, you will shape, improve and advance technology systems within the Museum to support various areas of the business.

You will be assigned to work on projects from a broad range of systems within the Data Digital IT portfolio, such as CRM and Membership platforms, ERP for HR and Finance, online forms and workflows, DAMS, Ticketing and Retail, commercial and payment systems and information and reporting as examples.

Working across a number of projects with varying deliverables, you will find yourself running workshops through to leading requirements gathering and analysis, preparing for tenders and shaping continuous improvement activity. A key part of the role is supplying technical input into emerging projects, ensuring chosen solutions fit into the wider technology and digital landscape at the Museum.

Whilst we are looking to cover this role on a full time basis, we are also open to considering a part time arrangement for the right candidate.

About you

You will be comfortable with tackling unfamiliar ground, applying your skills and experience to ensure successful project delivery by bringing an organised and methodical approach to continuous improvement, system configuration, functional design, business process analysis and testing.

This role is front-facing and demands a strong communicator comfortable with working across multiple and diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organisation through user group activities, contributing to project teams, as well as working with external suppliers. Your communication and people skills will be underpinned by a solid analytical base.

Closing date: 9am on Wednesday 25 November 2020

Interviews will be expected w/c 7 December
