About the role

The Queens Walk Resource Centre provides a day service based in the heart of the community for Adults with Learning disabilities and complex needs. We run an extensive day programme in our well-equipped centre and offer opportunities across the week for over 50 service users. The programme includes a range of group sessions, these meet the assessed needs of individuals. A Working knowledge of preferred methods of communications is essential to support the service users in very diverse activities. Making full use of our resources including, hydrotherapy, sensory gardening, IT suite as well as sessions in art, music and project work. We offer sensory supportive programmes, social skills cookery and outreach work experiences. Encouraging independence and advocacy in all that we do in our day service.

About you

An opportunity has arisen for someone with the right experience to join our team as a Senior Support Worker. Currently we are operating a service 8.30-4.30. There are early and late shifts between the hours of 8am-5:30pm Monday to Friday.

We are looking for an individual who is experienced working with adults with complex needs. Someone who has experience in management, a professional, who is energetic, ambitious and confident to step into the role as a Senior Support Worker. They will lead and support staff daily to deliver a varied and stimulating daily programme for the service users at Queens walk. As a senior they will assist the Manager in the day to day Management of the centre, offering supervision support and guidance to staff. Management duties includes induction of staff/student's/ agency staff and volunteers. Supporting their development and managing their duties and rotas. Other duties include, a varied range of admin duties related to the role and the complex health and safety issues involved in the running of a large resource centre. This includes administration of medication and audits to support monthly monitoring.
