About the role

We are recruiting an experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated Social Worker/Senior Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) service.

The LAC service is responsible for the overall management of the child's plan for permanence, including child permanence reports and statutory visiting requirements in line with the Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations (2010).

We have high aspirations and expect high achievement from our looked after children by promoting and supporting their holistic needs.

We aim to achieve positive outcomes in the key areas of: emotional wellbeing; educational achievements; placement stability; children living in foster placements locally; and reduction on reliance of externally commissioned placements.

We continue to grow, challenge ourselves, our colleagues and our partners to develop with confidence and competence.

About you

We are looking for Social Workers to join our Looked After Children Team, who have children's rights inscribed in their hearts and children's aspirations focused in their minds. We are looking for experienced, knowledgeable, skilled Social Workers who want to invest their energy into achieving better outcomes for our children every day.

Successful candidates will:

  • Hold a social work qualification
  • Have at least 12 months' postgraduate experience
  • Be able to evidence a commitment to your own development since qualification
  • Be registered with Social Work England
  • Have previous experience working with Looked After Children and unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people
