Job introduction

We currently have a vacancy for a temporary, fixed-term Teacher at Downs View Link College (16-19 years). We are very interested to hear from qualified teachers with SEN & Disability experience for a vacancy required until Easter 2021.

Paid weeks per year: 52

Fixed term: Until East 2021

Start date: As soon as possible, dependent on references, DBS check and notice period

 

 

About the role

Downs View is an Outstanding (Ofsted 2016) SEN Specialism (communication & interaction) school & college for pupils aged 4 to 25 years.

We are a highly innovative, committed, outward looking and enthusiastic organisation in all aspects of our work but especially: highest quality education and care, inclusive practice, staff development and parental engagement.

Our 16-19 College provision is at our Link College and 19 – 25 provision is at Downs View Life Skills College (this is independent of the local authority but is part of the broader Downs View organisation). Our aim is to create outstanding provision for adult learners with a range of needs but fundamentally concentrating on those with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound & multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and SLD with autism.

The role is class based working with young people with severe learning difficulties, autism and/or PMLD. Our curriculum supports the young people to prepare for adult hood and focuses on core skills including life skills.

We are absolutely committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.  The role is subject to a successful enhanced DBS check. 

Teachers may be required to carry out the duties set out in Schedule 3 of The Education (School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions of Employment) order 1993.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
