Start date: February 2021 or earlier if available

We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced senior manager to lead an excellent team of colleagues in ensuring high quality provision for all our Hackney children.

You will be the key Hackney lead in determining provision – acting, with your teams, as a key link between children, families and providers.

You will line manage the admissions team, the school place planning team, the SEND service leader and the SEND transport leader. You will also be the key strategic link for provision for excluded pupils.

In leading all these areas, we expect you to be:

  • Passionate about highest standards for all, particularly for the most vulnerable
  • Clear about strategic direction
  • Strong on high quality management and delivery, with relevant experience
  • Responsible and responsive
  • A very good communicator, in speaking and writing
  • Financially astute.

As well as leading and managing these teams, the post holder will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team for Hackney Education (the education service for Hackney Council), contributing strategically and operationally to running the central education service in Hackney.

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic, optimistic and compassionate leader, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities around including children and young people with high needs in a range of educational settings, and supporting their optimum progress.

You will have senior level relevant experience in a school (headteacher or deputy headteacher) or education service (service leader or more senior).

If you would like to discuss the role, or arrange a visit, please contact Thao Ngo (0208 820 7636, Thao.Ngo@Hackney.gov.uk) who will arrange a call or visit with Annie Gammon, Director of Education.
